Patric dated Danielle Schreiber off and on for approximately 10 years. During a period in which they were not together, he acted as a sperm donor allowing her to conceive a son, who was born in November 2009. Patric and Schreiber got back together in 2011, and broke up again in May of 2012. [8] He then sued for parental rights over the child, but lost the court case. Following his loss in court, he lobbied the California legislature to give parental rights to sperm donors, an activity he is involved with as of August 2013
